Volunteering at the Red Door Food Pantry

We welcome everyone who wishes to assist with our efforts. Volunteers can help in several ways.

Regular Food Pantry Hours

When: Tuesday 4:30-7:00 pm and /or Wednesday 8:40 -11:00 am.

Responsibilities: Pack and lift bags weighing 15-20 pounds, break down cardboard, and possibly carry food to cars as needed. We use Sign Up Genius so volunteers can choose their own schedule.

Please email us with your name, cell number, and email address at reddoorfp@gmail.com so we can enroll you in Sign-Up Genius and you can begin volunteering.

Truck Unload

When: Various times of the month usually at noon. Please follow our Facebook page for truck unload alerts.

Responsibilities: Be able to lift 20-25 pounds. We usually form a human chain to unload the food. Just show up to help.

Volunteer Training

According to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) requirements, all volunteers must be trained. Follow the link below to access training PowerPoints at the bottom of the page. When you sign up for a shift on Sign-Up Genius, you will attest to being trained. Breathe easy, you are not responsible for submitting reports. However, it is important for volunteers to understand the reasons for our procedures.

Donating Items for Our Pantry

Community Drives

We appreciate support from local schools and businesses that want to sponsor drives to help their neighbors in need. Since we can affordably buy food from the Atlanta Community Food Bank, we prefer assistance obtaining unopened household and personal hygiene items.

Deliveries are accepted during the Tuesday and Wednesday food pantry hours or contact us at reddoorfp@gmail.com to set up other arrangements.
