Director of Red Door Food Pantry
Summary: The Director is the chief administrative, operational, and development officer of the Red Door Food Pantry. The Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for overall mission and strategic objectives as determined by the Board of Directors.
Salary: $37,500 to $45,000

Time: 30 hours per week
Operations
- Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors and volunteers to carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board.
- Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with Atlanta Community Food Bank, federal, state and local regulations.
- Create and administer operational policies and guidelines manual that comply with the Atlanta Community .
- Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services. This includes food supply, access, and distribution.
- Order sufficient food from the Atlanta Community Food Bank monthly or biweekly as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance of a database accounting for all food processed through the pantry.
- Assure that all the facilities are maintained to ensure a safe and clean working environment for volunteers and that equipment is adequately maintained and kept current to process inventory.
- Recruit, manage, motivate, evaluate and retain volunteers.
- Marketing and Communications
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
- See that the Board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and important factors influencing it.
- Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals including social media platforms.
- Establish sound working relationships and cooperative relationships with community groups and organizations across Bartow County.
- Represent the program and point of view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the public.
- Ensure a robust Website, periodic newsletter, and annual report that summarize the organization’s accomplishments and recognizes its volunteers and financial donors.
Budget and Finance
- Create and maintain written sound financial practices.
- Work with the Board in preparing an annual budget; see that the organization operates within budget guidelines.
- Ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work.
- Jointly, with the president and secretary of the Board, conduct official correspondence of the organization, and jointly, with designated officers, execute legal documents.
Fundraising
- Work in collaboration with volunteers and Board of Directors members to create and execute an annual fundraising plan. Plan is to be submitted and approved by the Board of Directors.
- Implement the approved development plan in accordance with ethical fundraising principles.
- Work with a grant writer to explore new funding opportunities.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to understand budget projections such that the fundraising plan aligns to meeting those needs.
- Manage the implementation of the fundraising plan and oversee volunteers responsible for data entry and gift processing.
- Provide a monthly update to the Board of Directors when it conducts meetings.
- Develop and nurture ongoing relationships with major donors.
- Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors.
- Oversee organization and execution of special events.
- Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.
- Monitor trends in the community and region and adapt fundraising strategies as necessary.
Board Relations
- Assist the Board Chair in planning the agenda and materials for Board meetings.
- Initiate and assist in developing policy recommendations and in setting priorities.
- Assist in the orientation of new board members.
- Work with the Board of Directors to raise funds from the community.
- Work with the Board of Directors to implement a long-range strategy which achieves its mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a management position
- 2-5 years’ experience in fundraising with past success
- Proficiency in the use of computers for word processing, financial management (QuickBooks), e-mail, Excel, and the Internet.
- Confident and natural communicator
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to prioritize and multitask successfully
- Ability to collaborate well and be an effective team player
- Experience in working with a Board of Directors is preferred.
